A.B. Original join Sugar Mountain’s 2018 lineup

There’s just seven weeks to go until over 30 international and Australian artists take the stage at Melbourne’s hottest party. Today, one of our nation’s hottest rising acts, A.B. Original have been added to the bill. This will be there Sugar Mountain debut and it is not something you want to miss. The festival takes over Melbourne’s Arts Precinct on Saturday January 20.

The Indigenous hip-hop duo Adam Briggs and “Trials” Daniel Rankine come from the Yorta Yorta and Ngarrindjeri tribes and have conquered 2017 with their debut album Reclaim Australia.

The pair show off their talent in tracks ‘2 Black, 2 Strong’, ‘I.C.U’ and ‘January 26’ featuring Dan Sultan’. Not to mention what has been donned the best Like a Version ever, ‘Dumb Things’ with Paul Kelly.

Reclaim Australia features guests such as Archie Roach, Dr G. Yunupingu and Thelma Plum and debuted at number one on the iTunes chart. The album has won the Australian Music Prize, triple j’s Album of the Year, ARIA’s Best Urban Album and Best Independent Release and numerous other accolades. 

Unfortunately, while the festival welcomes A.B. Original, J Hus is no longer able to perform.

“I’m truly disappointed that I won’t be able to appear at Sugar Mountain due to circumstances out of my control,” says J Hus. “Big thanks to all my Australian fans for their love and support, will be working hard to reschedule dates as soon as possible.”

Sugar Mountain’s lineup now includes A.B. Original, Actress, Ara Koufax, Beaches, Body Type, Cut Copy, Dan Shake, Eclair Fifi, Fantastic Man, Gerd Janson, Honey Dijon, Jamila Woods, Joey Bada$$, Kardajala Kirridarra, Laurel Halo, Love Deluxe, Project Pablo, Sevdaliza, Shanti Celeste and Stealla Donnelly.
