Sydney singer-songwriter George Byrne has relocated to Los Angeles and dropped a few letters from his name, hooked up with multi-instrumentalist producers Nic Johns and Alex Elena and recorded a synth pop tune best described as Savage Garden meets 1927. It’s all very neat and tidy, and stirring in a bland white way, but too naff for indie crowd and not distinct enough to cut through on commercial radio. I can’t picture his audience.
