You Am I frontman Tim Rogers is hitting the road for a run of intimate solo shows, and Melbourne's up first.
Tim Rogers is bringing the Le Charme Defensif Tour to Brunswick Ballroom on 20 March for a typically intimate evening.
Fresh off his induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame, the You Am I frontman is stripping things back to basics — just Rogers and the songs, up close and personal. It’s a rare chance to see one of Australia’s most enduring songwriters in a setting that suits the material perfectly. Le Charme Defensif kicks off in Melbourne before winding through regional NSW, Queensland and the ACT across March and April.
Three decades in, Tim Rogers has accumulated a catalogue that most artists could only dream of — more than 20 albums, 10 ARIA Awards, and a reputation as one of the sharpest lyricists this country has produced. Beyond music, he’s carved out a life as an actor, playwright and best-selling author. This tour is a chance to hear that body of work in the most direct way possible.

Support on the Melbourne date comes from Milly Strange, a five-piece local outfit who’ve been making real noise on the city’s live circuit. Their sound sits somewhere between folk storytelling, alt-rock and grunge; vivid lyricism with a raw emotional core. They dropped their self-titled debut album in August and have been building a solid following ever since.
It’s a sharp looking bill, and a Brunswick Ballroom show with Rogers in this kind of stripped-back mode doesn’t come around often. Worth getting in early.
