Brunswick Ballroom is about to get very loud, very harmonious, and very special this June.
The Northside Musicians Choir is bringing its 80-strong ensemble to the Brunswick Ballroom for a one-night event, and the secret headliner has finally been revealed: Melbourne singer-songwriter Rowena Wise will take the stage to perform her new album with the full choir behind her.
Directed by Grace Robinson, the Northside Musicians Choir draws from Melbourne’s local music and creative community, pulling together musicians, artists, music lovers, and people who simply love to sing, and are bloody good at it.
The choir performs intricate five-part arrangements spanning pop, traditional folk, contemporary, and gospel, rehearsing weekly at APAX Warehouse in Preston, which has become a home base for the growing ensemble.

Wise is a Naarm/Melbourne-based artist who has racked up over 9.2 million streams since emerging in 2018, earning airplay across triple j, double j and Unearthed along the way.
Raised in Margaret River, Western Australia, she grew up steeped in music, with a father who built guitars by hand and a mother who was a Chicago-born folk musician. She moved to Melbourne at 18 to pursue her own path, and has been building a devoted following ever since.
Her songwriting pulls from the storytelling tradition of 60s folk while sitting comfortably in indie rock, garage pop and alt-folk, with a directness and emotional honesty that has made her one of the more compelling voices in Australian independent music.
On the night, Wise will perform her new album in full, with all 80 voices of the Northside Musicians Choir arranged by Grace Robinson behind her.
