RocKwiz returns to The Espy for four intimate nights this May

RocKwiz returns to The Espy this May, bringing its cult music quiz chaos back home for four nights only.

After years on the road, RocKwiz is heading back to where it all kicked off, the Gershwin Room at Hotel Esplanade.

From 26 May to 29 May, RocKwiz returns to The Espy with a tightly packed run that leans into nostalgia while keeping the live energy that’s carried it across theatres and festivals nationwide.

Long-time hosts Julia Zemiro and Brian Nankervis are back in the mix, alongside Dugald and the RocKwiz OrKestra, plus a rotating cast of special guests.

Expect the familiar mix of live music, trivia and off-the-cuff moments that made the show a staple, now dialled up in a much more intimate room than most fans have experienced in recent years.

Energy of the Gershwin Room has always been central to RocKwiz’s identity. Early episodes built a loyal following in that very space, with 175 recordings across 14 seasons before wrapping up its TV run there in 2016.

This return isn’t about cameras though. No recordings, no broadcasts, just a room full of people and a show happening in real time.

Classic segments are all locked in for the run, including Who Can It Be Now?, Local and/or General, Million Dollar Riff and The Furious Five. Add in the signature duets and a few unpredictable guest moments, and it’s shaping up as a proper throwback with a fresh edge.

Ticket demand is expected to move quickly, especially given the limited capacity. Presale kicks off 16 April, with general tickets available from 17 April. Options range from standard entry through to VIP and VVIP packages with a few extras built in.

Four nights only means exactly that. No extensions, no extra shows, and no second chances once tickets are gone.

For fans who’ve followed the show since its SBS days, or anyone keen to see a piece of Australian music culture in its natural habitat, this run lands as a rare opportunity to catch RocKwiz exactly where it belongs.
