Melbourne songwriter Grizzly Jim enlists Jimmy Allen (Buckley Ward), Simon Lawrie (Major Tom And The Atoms) and Greg Foletta (The Toot Toot Toots) to create a warm acoustic-electro bed for his stark, lamenting song. His voice doesn’t work for me, nor am I moved by his lyrical depictions of modern day trauma and alienation, but there’s nothing wrong with them, particularly, it’s just a matter of taste. The muted horns are lovely.
