So then, what’s the band name and what do you ‘do’ in the band?
The band is called Myles Mayo and the Slippery Gypsies. I write the songs, sing and play the guitar.
What do you reckon people will say you sound like ?
They might say we sound like a band that plays music in the genre of pop/country/folk/rock. They might say we sing like the wind, and play like the kids.
What do you love about making music?
I enjoy writing songs and recording them.
What do you hate about the music industry?
I don’t really hate anything about it… I just dislike most things about it… immensely… no, but really I don’t really hate anything strongly enough to voice an opinion.
If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be and why?
Maybe I would go back and visit Sue Ridgpipe, the low flying angel with those golden lungs. I think I’d just like to nestle into her chest and ask her why? Why did she have to die?
If you could assassinate one person or band from popular music, who would it and why?
Um… that’s a fairly harsh punishment… but… Garry Glitter, for being so into child pornography.
What can a punter expect from your live show?
They can expect to see four people in a band, all singing in tune, all playing instruments in tune… among other stuff.
What’ve you got to sell CD-wise?
I think we will have about 25 units for the Melbourne show.

We are playing at the Northcote Social Club on Fri 14th Oct with Skipping Girl Vinegar.
