So then, w hat’s the band name and what do you ‘do’ in the band?

The band is Buttertime. As the front man, I bring lyrical and melodic ideas to the mix, as well as all the energy I can muster to our “in your face” live shows.

W hat do you reckon people will say you sound like?

I think the succinct way to summarise the popular response to our sound would be “diverse, driving, danceable”.

What do you love about making music?

I love to create and locate a universal vibration, whatever the frequency may be.

What do you hate about the music industry?

No hate here, I just have a good chuckle at the expense of middlemen AND uninspired regurgitators.

If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be and why?

Probably Jim Morrison – he’d call a spade a spade, for one, and I think he’d appreciate our blend of musicianship and visceral lyricism

If you could assassinate one person or band from popular music, who would it and why?

Everyone who thinks autotune is the tits.

What can a punter expect from your live show?

Raw energy, uncompromising musicality and an irresistible urge to move.

What’ve you got to sell CD-wise?

Our debut EP Spread It dropped in early 2010 andyou’ll find a set of limited sneak peek Christmas releases on our soundcloud.

When’s the gig and with who?

We play The Retreat Friday October 28 with The Sidetracked Fiasco, a band that shares our love of hard, crossover funk.
