Hardcore fans of all ages rejoice, because New York band Every Time I Die are returning to Australia for the first time since they played Big Day Out back in 2013. With them, they’re bringing their friends from the US, letlive., as well as special guests from Canada, Counterparts. After finishing up their seventh Warped Tour in the US, they’ll be hitting stages across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. On the 2017 Australian tour, the five-piece will showcase their brand new album Low Teens, engineered and produced by Will Putney (The Amity Affliction, Acacia Strain, Thy Art Is Murder).Low Teens features guest vocalists with formidable bellower Tim Singer (Deadguy, Kiss It Goodbye, No Escape) and longtime friend Brendan Urie (Panic! at the Disco). You can catch Every Time I Die at Arrow On Swanston on Thursday January 12.
Milk! Records are holding their sorta-annual Xmas Party at The Tote this year, which will include a matinee show for fans of all ages. You can expect to hear live performances from indie-rock giant Courtney Barnett, who recently helped to raise $25,000 for the conservation of the blue banded bee and native grasslands earlier in December. What a legend. Also partying it up will be a mix of local, up and coming artists like Fraser A. Gorman, Ouch My Face, East Brunswick All Girls Choir, Loose Tooth and The Finks. Four-piece Australian band New Age Notion are bringing a fresh sound to old influences, inspired by the sounds of Catfish And The Bottlemen, The 1975, The Killers and Two Door Cinema Club. Having released their new single, What Happened To Forever, earlier in the year, they will be touring the country in January to celebrate their debut EP. The Brisbane born and bred band will be hitting up Wrangler Studios for an all ages gig with homegrown Melbourne band BTWN US as well as local pop-punk group Future Static. Catch a showcase of some of Melbourne’s finest up and coming indie rock talent at a venue that is proud to give young people the opportunity to experience quality, live music.
