Canadian pair Angine de Poitrine play math-rock in polka dots and tall papier-mâché masks with very long noses, while Fatoumata Diawara (France) is a Grammy-nominated singer with Malian roots who has worked with Damon Albarn, Oumou Sangaré and Disclosure.
A few familiar faces are making their way back.
Kyiv-based DakhaBrakha (Ukraine) played their first Australian show at WOMADelaide in 2011 and have since done Glastonbury, blending Ukrainian folk with global rhythms and modern sounds.

Plenty of acts are new to the program.
Haute & Freddy (USA) play their first Australian shows with camp carnival-pop and a synth-heavy, theatrical sound, and count Lady Gaga among their fans.

Wild Wild Women (India) are the country’s first all-female rap group, Claudio Rabe (Madagascar/Réunion) plays trance-rock, Hempress Sativa (Jamaica) leans into dub-reggae and seven-piece BCUC (South Africa) deliver Afro-psychedelic sounds.
For the dancefloor, Kenny Dope (USA) of Masters at Work, a four-time Grammy nominee, is on the bill alongside Bradley Zero (UK), one of the original Boiler Room programmers, who is bringing a slice of the London scene.
Also joining are multi-generational Thai trance ensemble Khun Narin (Thailand), Bhutan Balladeers (Bhutan), the first Bhutanese group to play the festival, Latin big band El Laberinto del Coco (Puerto Rico), Anglo-Irish folk quartet The Haar (Ireland) and Trials (Australia) of A.B. Original, who is debuting his new solo project.
Away from the music stages, Body Concert by Ambiguous Dance Company (South Korea) is a dance show structured like a live gig.
The Around the Park program includes Helios by Luke Jerram (UK), a seven-metre replica of the sun that lights up the night sky. Les Goulus (France) are back with three interactive shows: The Horsemen, Equicoaches and Cupids.
Taste the World has artists sharing recipes and stories from home, KidZone caters to the youngest festivalgoers and The Planet Talks tackles environmental and global issues.
