The 10th Ballarat International Foto Biennale is gearing up to transform the charming regional city of Ballarat into a dynamic cultural hub from August 26th to October 22nd, 2023.
Gifting the region an eight-week-long visual journey that will have your eyes feasting on over 2000 awe-inspiring photographic works, the event will see the world’s most remarkable photographers come together to unravel the theme: The Real Thing.
Imagine wandering through laneways adorned with breathtaking imagery, discovering hidden treasures in historic buildings, and encountering thought-provoking art in unexpected corners. This is the magic of the Ballarat International Foto Biennale – a spectacle that turns the city into a temporary treasure trove of photographic wonders.
At the centre, prepare to be blown away by the world premiere of People Power – Platon. This exclusive exhibit will bring you up close and personal with captivating portraits taken by the legendary Platon, showcasing today’s headline makers and shakers. And that’s not all! Delve into the captivating works of renowned Indian street photographer Vineet Vohra, whose documentary-style photography captures the heartbeat of the streets; or step back in time with “Instant Warhol,” a collection of original Polaroids by the one and only Andy Warhol.
