When 360 took over Howler it was like he’d never left

Support act Poppy was the perfect opener. The crowd was feeling her and she was flowing right off their positive feedback. Someone in the front row knew all the words to her opener Ocean and she made it clear that it was the first time anyone’s done that who she doesn’t know. Cute right? Mic feedback cut the beginning of a track off but everyone loved the genuine shock on her face. “This is the biggest crowd I’ve ever played to and you’re actually so supportive. What the fuck?”  It was like a little family and everyone wanted her to succeed.

Mixes of Frank Ocean’s Thinkin ‘Bout You and Kanye’s Real Friends saw a bit of action in the audience but when Poppy decided to go H.A.M, that’s when we got the real vibes happening. Furiously spitting, she even ran out of breath in the last song. Didn’t matter though, everyone was already won over.

360 arrived right on time The crowd was deafening with hands shot so far up, it was hard to even see the rapper arrive. People absolutely love 360. His rabid fan base hasn’t waned since his breakout second record Falling And Flying in 2011. They may not have known all the words to single God Mode but they sure as hell did for second single Devil’s Advocate, especially the choice Seth Sentry cameo line “You’re so full of shit.” 360 let fans know that Cant takes every opportunity to drop the sample, and the DJ cheekily threw it out three times in a row. You can’t exaggerate just how well Run Alone and Boys Like You were received. Every single syllable was rapped with precision by the crowd without fault. A bit of reverb helped 360 along but he performed extremely well for his return.

Does Pez plan his social life around when 360 performs? Every time without fail, he’s brought out and the crowd manage to go even wilder. Fans weren’t treated to The Festival Song but Dem Gainz and Live It Up went down well. There was a bit of banter, a girl in the front row with a ‘Pez’ iPhone case was treated to the rapper grabbing her phone for a personalised greeting. Fans were then gifted with deep Please Be Seated cut Shutterbug and Cant decided to mix the beat of Rihanna’s Wild Thoughts.

The stage went dark, and 360 took a seat on a stool to reminisce about his addiction days. Some dickhead next to us smirked, “Oi, when are you going to stop with the D&M shit?” He shut up extremely quickly when 360 put on a passionate performance of Tiny Angel. Known for his convictions, it was still a shock to be so drawn in by his words this late in the game – it was our first listen to the track, so the content hit hard.

The song was pure emotion, and luckily he arrived back on stage with a profanity-laden snapchat intro to pump back up with Killer. If the new record has half the draw that Tiny Angel does, it’ll be like 360 never left.

Highlight– The climax of Tiny Angel.

Lowlight– D&M dickhead not realising 360’s discussed addiction for nearly a decade now.

Crowd Favourite – 99% of the room clapping during Boys Like You’s chorus.
