The festival starts online from Thursday July 14, on Bastille Day. Bastille Day is celebrated annually on the day that the famous prison was stormed by revolutionaries, marking the start of the French Revolution (the King Louis guillotine one, not the Les Mis one). The Bastille Day French Festival will take place over the weekend on Saturday 16 – Sunday 17 at Federation Square.
