Video Premiere: Simon Imrei releases a touching animated clip for ‘Unseen’

Melbourne musician Simon Imrei has joined forces with animator Ry Wilkin to bring his sentimental song ‘Unseen’ to life in this new clip.

The track is the most introspective off his album The Sum Of Scenes and tells the story of an elderly lady left behind by the death of her husband, in their shared home surrounded by memories.

It was a deeply personal piece of work for both Imrei and Wilkin, inspired by experiences with and stories from their own grandparents.

Recorded in Abbotsford, the song also features Ben Franz from The Waifs playing steel pedal, and, if you listen closely, you can pick up the sweet backing vocals of Gretta Ray.

Watch the clip below, and maybe grab some tissues.

Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
