Video premiere: Melbourne singer-songwriter Jess McMahon melds folklore with sultry rock on ‘Up Yonder’

‘Up Yonder’ stands as the second single lifted from Jess McMahon’s forthcoming EP, These Six Strings.

Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Jess McMahon has given us another taste of her imminent EP with her new single, ‘Up Yonder’.

The second single lifted from her EP, These Six Strings, ‘Up Yonder’ eases in with soft strumming and hazy vocals, slowly building before unleashing muddy slide guitar as it unfurls into a sultry rock number.

Catch up on the latest music interviews, news and reviews here.

Ahead of the release of These Six Strings on Saturday April 17, McMahon has delivered a film clip for the track filmed, directed and edited by her partner Agostino Soldati.

Shot at the pair’s home and a local creek their family frequently visits for walks, the film clip mimics track’s polar energies as it jumps between the two contrasting scenes.

With her band currently scattered across the globe due to COVID-19, McMahon will launch These Six Strings with a solo show at Lyrebird Lounge on Saturday April 17.
