Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around Melbourne here.

This Sunday February 26 and next Sunday March 5 from 1pm onwards, some of the best young comedians from across Victoria will gather at The Evelyn Hotel for the next heat of the Victorian RAW Comedy competition.

They each bring their most side-splitting five-minute set and the winner will go through to the state final.

As usual, there are some seasoned veterans in the mix to guarantee gut-busting laughs all arvo. The first heat this Sunday will be hosted by Melbourne International Comedy Festival favourites Brett Blake and Nat Harris.

Blake is a self-described beer-drinking, dirt-bike riding professional shit kicker and cheeky scallywag who’ll be performing his new show Dog Act at Comedy Fest this year. You will have seen him on the Allstars Supershow, now see him get upstaged by some emerging superstars in the flesh!

While Harris, who you will have no-doubt heard on Triple R’s Breakfasters, also writes for The Project and is a former winner of the Golden Gibbo award at Comedy Festival, picking up five-star reviews en route.

Tickets are an absolute bargain at $10, so organise some mates and get on them before they all sell out. Tickets to Sunday February 26, head here. For tickets to Sunday March 5, head here.
