The first cut from the new, crowd-sourced undergroundLOVERS record does their legacy proud. The track is built around a simple rolling groove, with picked guitar notes and quick flutters of bass tumbling over each other in tight little circles. In the verse, they invoke a slick Madchester funk tradition, very Primal Scream, before the chorus blows up big and dirty, full of mangy guitar chords. Au Pair appears on their seventh studio album, Weekend, available now through Pledge Music.
