UK dance rock legends EMF will return to Australian stages for the first time since 1991 this winter.

The Epsom Mad Funkers, best known for their smash hit Unbelievable, are set to bring their signature blend of dance, rock and electronica across five cities. The tour follows the release of their fifth studio album The Beauty and the Chaos in 2024.

EMF dates and venues:

  • Wednesday 30 July 2025 – Astor Theatre, Perth
  • Friday 1 August 2025 – Oxford Art Factory, Sydney
  • Saturday 2 August 2025 – The Gov, Adelaide
  • Sunday 3 August 2025 – The Princess Theatre, Brisbane
  • Thursday 7 August 2025 – Corner Hotel, Melbourne

The band’s influence on Australian music culture runs deep, with Unbelievable achieving Gold status and reaching number 8 on the ARIA Singles Charts. The track landed at number 35 on the 1991 Year-End ARIA chart and was later immortalised in Music Max’s 1000 Greatest Songs of All Time.

While Unbelievable remains their calling card, EMF’s catalogue runs deep. Singles like I Believe, Children, and Lies have become live favourites alongside their rowdy cover of The Monkees’ I’m a Believer featuring Vic Reeves.

The band’s journey hasn’t been without tragedy. The sudden passing of bassist Zac Foley in 2002 led to a period of silence, but EMF regrouped in 2007 and have been steadily performing festivals and live shows since.

Their creative resurgence continues with two albums in recent years – 2022’s Go Go Sapiens and The Beauty and the Chaos in 2024. The enduring appeal of their music is evident in their streaming numbers, with almost one million monthly Spotify listeners. Notably, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane all rank in the band’s top five streaming cities globally.

The upcoming tour promises a mix of classic tracks and fresh material, marking a historic return that bridges a 34-year gap for Australian fans.
