Trip hop duo Future State recreate the gig experience with their ‘Live Sessions’ video

Filmed in their own studio, the video features a live medley performance.

Fresh off the back of releasing their EP Rising Tide in April followed by their latest single ‘Autumn’ last month, Blue Mountains-based indie trip hop duo Future State have unveiled a special video release showcasing a live studio session.

Recorded in their own Future State Studios, the viewing experience aims to replicate the visual spectacle and audio quality of a live set, which we’re all missing amidst the pandemic.

Their first-ever live studio session video, the clip features a medley performance of tracks ‘Autumn’, ‘Crazy in Love’ and ‘Rising Tide’.

“We love programs like Live on KEXP and NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert,” says one half of Future State, Stuart Cam. “We wanted to create a video that was engaging and energetic while still keeping a high level of audio fidelity.”

Future State melds the eclectic influences of its two members, Alison Oliver and Stuart Cam, to create a fusion of modern pop, elements of jazz and trip hop.

Drawing from the likes of Florence and the Machine, Portishead and Massive Attack, the pair are constantly challenging themselves creatively.

The duo are currently working towards their next single and video release, both of which are scheduled for release this December.
