The track serves as the second taste of Morchella’s forthcoming EP, ‘Woman of Now’.
Following the release of her most recent single, ‘Coat of Arms’, Morchella has given another glimpse of her forthcoming EP Woman of Now with her new single ‘Illuminate Your Senses’.
Exploring themes of complex or extreme belief systems, ‘Illuminate Your Senses’ projects a dark, ethereal sound.
“People view the world in such different ways and a belief system is a fundamental part of the human experience. This is a topic that has always fascinated me,” says Morchella.
“I wanted to explore just what it is that drives people to adopt extreme or dangerous viewpoints and the appeal/temptation behind them. This subject seems more relevant than ever today.”
Inspired by the likes of Warpaint, Sharon Van Etten, Radiohead and PJ Harvey, the track is driven by throaty vocals and a floating, otherworldly melody.
Born in Ukraine before spending much of her childhood moving from country to country, the now-London-based multi-instrumentalist and producer has collected a rich and varied musical education over the years which is reflected in her eclectic sound.
Recorded at Hackney Road studios with Shuta Shinoda (Hot Chip, Jehnny Beth) along with a talented band, Woman of Now will showcase Morchella’s diverse sonic offering when it drops on November 30.
