The 500,000 Winners campaign wants to bring more tourists to the island mega-city in 2023.
If the wanderlust is hitting but the bank account is looking a little dry, you’ve come to the right place. With the support of Hello Hong Kong, the Hong Kong International Airport will be offering up 500,000 free round trip economy class flights from March to May 2023 for anyone who is interested in visiting the Fragrant Harbour.
Following a few rocky years of the pandemic, the city wants to welcome the world back to Hong Kong in a big way.

“I am confident that Hong Kong’s vibrant east-meets-west culture, together with our iconic and brand-new attractions and immersive experiences will attract travelers back for an epic, unforgettable journey,” says Dr Pang Yiu-kai, Chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board.
They are doing the release in three waves: in March, they’re offering flights from Southeast Asia, in April they’re offering flights from Mainland China, and in May they are offering flights from Northeast Asia and other markets (PS – that’s us!). The winners will be determined through lucky draws, promotions and games.
There will also be around 80,000 additional free flights for local Hong Kongers up for grabs from July onward to encourage travel and vacations. Winners of the free trip will fly via Cathay Pacific Airway, Hong Kong Express or Hong Kong Airlines.
On top of all of this, once you arrive in Hong Kong, you’ll be traveling in style with discounts and freebies from a selection of around 16,000 businesses throughout the city. The Hong Kong Goodies campaign is giving out around 1 million vouchers for things like complimentary drinks, transit, attractions, retail and cuisine.
While there are still a few unknowns (including the dates that the winners need to travel on), it’s an undeniably solid deal. Mark your calendars for May, and cross your fingers that you’re one of the lucky few who will get the chance to sip sweet milk tea, stroll through the serene Kowloon park, and enjoy all of the magic that Hong Kong has to offer.
