Circus Nexus invites the community to step into the captivating world of circus arts at the much-anticipated launch of its new venue at 1 Chifley Drive, Preston on Saturday 23 March between 11.30am - 3.30pm.

“Circus Nexus has moved to a new location in Preston where we have created a hub for young and emerging Victorian based creatives where they learn, develop, practice and present circus and physical theatre,” says CEO Jeremy Davies. “After a hunt for a new space and challenges overcome during COVID we are thrilled to be celebrating our new home.”

This free event promises a day filled with exciting workshops, mesmerizing performances, informative tours, and delicious treats for everyone.

“At Circus Nexus we pride ourselves on our inclusive community. We provide opportunities for everyone from 3 to 73 to participate in the magic of circus. Come along and join us to officially launch the space!” said CN Chair, Leonie Morgan.

The main studio will host regular classes throughout the day, while the event space transforms into a bustling hub of activity with free workshops, and awe-inspiring performances. Watch the excitement with a BBQ, drinks and popcorn. All proceeds will go towards Circus Nexus activities.

Attendees are invited to join informative and interactive tours led by CEO Jeremy Davies, where they will delve into the rich history of Circus Nexus (formerly Westside Circus), gain insights into the circus setup process, and discover the myriad benefits of circus arts.

The highlights of the day include a performance from the talented Sophia Laidlaw, an emerging artist from the National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA) who started their circus journey at Circus Nexus and performances from Circus Nexus Entertainment and the Circus Nexus performance troupe.

For those looking to try their hand at circus skills, free workshops running for 30 minutes each are tailored for beginners and first-timers. The lineup includes a Balance & Juggling workshop with Isaaca Fletcher, a Hula workshop with Andrea (Andi) Cooper, and a Skipping workshop with Jack Wilde.
