In an era of grindset and hustle culture, one man stepping up to say enough is enough.

Check your Google Calendar and grab your notebook – you’ve got a meeting invite from John Glover. No, it will not be kept brief. No, it has not been approved by HR. Yes, there will need to be an internal investigation done afterwards.

Glover, Sydney’s most “terminally online gay comedian”, is fed up with the monotony of modern workplace culture and internet obsession.

To fight back, he’s developed a brand new hour of stand-up comedy about becoming an adult in the age of Windows, complete with a state-of-the-art PowerPoint presentation.

Designed for corporate millennials looking to wind down after a nine-to-five, the show analyses the role of computers in helping to create our “fake work-selves and our fake real-selves”.

It is coming to town as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and will show at the Catfish Bar from March 27 to April 6 (except on Tuesdays and Sundays).

A stand-up comedian and improv artist, John Glover (who works a day job in marketing) debuted at MIFC last year with the dazzlingly funny show John Glover Must Die.

He’s already brought Microsoft Orifice to the Sydney Fringe Festival 2023, where it had a successful run and was praised for its witty sense of humour and acute relatability.

Whether you’re looking to catch a few Happy Hour drinks with your coworker or send a not-so-subtle message to your boss, this show is best experienced straight from the office, so clock off and come on down. Business casual is optional.
