Created in collaboration with Neil Diamond himself, the musical traces the journey of a Brooklyn kid who became one of the biggest names in American rock. With 140 million albums sold worldwide, inductions into the Songwriters and Rock and Roll Halls of Fame, and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award on his mantle, Diamond’s catalogue spans generation-defining tracks like Cracklin’ Rosie, Forever in Blue Jeans and Sweet Caroline.

Diamond’s relationship with Australia stretches back nearly half a century. He toured the country seven times with promoter Paul Dainty AO between 1976 and 2015, and his 1972 live album Hot August Night spent 29 weeks at number one on the Australian charts, clocking 65 weeks on the chart overall — making it the third-longest-charting album of its era in Australian music history.

The production is directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer, choreographed by Olivier Award winner Steven Hoggett and written by four-time Academy Award nominee Anthony McCarten. Scenic design comes from Tony Award winner David Rockwell, with costumes by Emilio Sosa, lighting by Kevin Adams and sound by Jessica Paz.
