There’s a fortnight-long festival happening at IKEA from today

IKEA

ABBA themed flash mobs, Swedish meatballs and tons of sales ... IKEA is the place to be.

You can’t go to IKEA for a quick shop. Sorry, it’s impossible – you’re there just to grab a tea towel and suddenly you’re funneled into an indoor tour of display kitchens and bedrooms that you fantasise being yours. That Tufjord sure looks good, you think to yourself, I could sure use an Epevär, or an Utåker or a Vestmarka …

Never leave IKEA again, because they’re having a fortnight-long festival from August 26 until September 10. Sample some of IKEA’s all-time food favourites in the self serve warehouse and compete in a dance-off in the living room showspaces. There’s also tons of free activities and events going ahead, like IKEA speed-styling, yoga sessions, DJ sets and heaps more.

What you need to knöw

  • IKEA are throwing a fortnight-long festival
  • There will be tons of in store activities, including ABBA flash mobs, DJ sets and yoga, as well as exclusive IKEA deals
  • It takes place from August 26 until September 10

Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around Melbourne here.

With a disco ball set up in the Home smart area in the showroom, there will be something new to discover with each visit. It’s not just IKEAs in Victoria that are throwing this festival, it’s a global event that every IKEA is participating in. With local DJ Limestone Cowboy spinning lunchtime beats in the IKEA restaurant, live plant workshops that grant you tips and tricks to care for your live plants, live product demonstrations and more, you’ll never want or need to leave the megastore ever again.

There’s also an online component to the festival if you can’t make it in person. With live shopping events, video tutorials and live video interviews with musicians like Thurman and Torrenca aka Bros Fresh, there’s something for everyone at the IKEA festival.
