For the very first time, they’re unleashing VR/XR experiences, offering captivating short film retrospectives and pioneering short film rough cut screenings with tailored industry feedback! It’s a groundbreaking move that’s set to redefine the very essence of the festival, setting the stage for years of cinematic brilliance to come.

From returning festival director, Chris Luscri: “I’m incredibly thrilled to be leading RGFF into its milestone tenth year, and a bold new future! I hope that audiences’ involvement in the festival proves to be a fun, stimulating and exceptionally thought-provoking one. RGFF is unique in that it is Victoria’s longest-running short film festival RUN by filmmakers and largely FOR filmmakers, making it a special experience for emerging and established short-form filmmakers alike, alongside general audiences. There is no better or more exciting time to be a filmmaker than now. Be bold, be inspired, be political, be kind, break down barriers and don’t take NO for an answer..”

From festival producers, Darius Family and Blake Curtis: “Marking our 10th year, RGFF continues to be a dynamic platform for filmmakers, championing boldness, creativity, and collaboration. We hope that audiences’ involvement in the festival proves to be a fun, stimulating and exceptionally thought-provoking one.”

RGFF isn’t just a festival—it’s a beacon of creativity and innovation, fueled by filmmakers, for filmmakers. And this year, they’re rolling out an expanded awards lineup, including categories like Best On-Screen Talent, Best Off-Screen Talent, Best Documentary, and the prestigious Best Film.
