There’s a country rock festival coming to Melbourne with a rodeo, monster trucks and more

Words by Staff Writer

The Melbourne Muster & Rodeo Festival is set to bring a massive dose of country rock to the suburbs this autumn.

This year’s event promises an ambitious fusion of live music and rodeo action at Caribbean Gardens in Scoresby, just 20km from Melbourne’s CBD. Featuring some of Australia’s most beloved country artists across a jam-packed day of entertainment, the festival looks to cement itself as a must-attend for country music fans and thrill-seekers alike.

Headlining the day is country music sensation James Johnston, who’ll take the main stage from 8:50pm. He’ll be joined by an impressive lineup including Adam Brand, Travis Collins, the Sunny Cowgirls, Jayne Denham, Christie Lamb, Paul Costa, and Hazel and The Thief.

But this isn’t just about the tunes. True to its name, the Melbourne Muster incorporates three scheduled rodeo sessions throughout the day, giving punters a taste of authentic outback action between sets. For those seeking additional thrills, the event will feature monster truck rides, line dancing sessions, and mechanical bull riding (all TBC).

Camping options are available for the full festival experience, with check-in from Friday at noon. The Friday night pre-party includes performances from Jay Santilli and Ally Row, plus two sessions of the always-entertaining Bogan Bingo.

For punters keen to elevate their experience, limited RegFest Lounge VIP tickets offer a private bar, exclusive viewing area, BBQ dinner, and dedicated facilities – a tempting upgrade for those willing to splash an extra hundred or so dollars.
