The perfect day out for both humans and doggos.
If you’re anything like us, your dog is basically your child. And just like any child, they deserve the best that you can give them – and that includes glorious day-outs and fun events on the weekends. Giving you an excuse to get out and treat your loyal and fluffy, four-legged best friend to the best day of their life, a pop-up doggy theme park is arriving in Melbourne this Spring.

Named Theme Bark, the family-friendly event will take to Port Melbourne Industrial Centre for the Arts (PICA) on Saturday, November 19 and is packed with fun for your favourite four-legged friend. There will be a giant dogstacle course, a ball pit playpen where puppers can play in a secured area and pooch pampering services with specialist groomers and nail techs to get your pooch looking its best.
You can enter your little pal into competitions, including the doggy dash, pup pageant and Theme Barks’ own talent show called ‘Dog Factor’ which is all about searching for Melbourne’s next doggy superstar. Elsewhere, there will be a Barkery Lane pop-up market that will bring together a tonne of dog-friendly retailers selling treats, accessories, clothes and toys.

As expected, you’ll also find puppacinos and doggy ice creams, alongside food trucks, music and on-site bars for the humans. Dogs must be on a leash and always controlled by their owners unless they are in the doggy playpen which will offer small and large dog play zones.
In case you needed any more convincing, organisers are donating a portion of ticket sales to a local dog rescue organisation, and if you’re looking to rescue or adopt a pooch there will be information and adoption applications available on the day.
