What was once only a pipe dream has now become a reality.
Last month, when 19-year-old Sydney-based DJ Kaila posted a viral video petitioning to host a rave in a Bunnings Warehouse, it’s safe to say few believed it would ever become a reality. Yet by some delightful stoke of luck, here we are.
Kaila’s video, equipped with a super sick remix of the iconic Bunnings jingle, quickly gathered steam, racking up more than 440 thousand views. The official Bunnings account even commented “We’ll bring the decks” on the original TikTok video.

Soon, Aussie electronic heavy-hitters including Peking Duck and What So Not took up the charge as well, encouraging their fans to reach out to Bunnings.

As the idea grew, a whopping 2 million people showed their support and finally, Bunnings got on board as well. Yesterday, the hardware shop gave the green light on the rave, prompting a great deal of excitement from the dedicated fans.
Peking Duck took to Instagram to share the good news. “Bunnings have listened. We’re doing this!” said Rueben Styles in the video.
“We still don’t know where, so pick a spot, pick a state, pick a Bunnings. Where do you want to do this party? Cut off your garden hose and get ready to get sweaty in the timber isle with us.”
From hi-vis everything to steel-toed boots and safety goggles, we’re expecting the fits at the Bunnings rave to go hard.
While the party will be going ahead, many details are still yet to be confirmed including the full lineup, location and the date, although the event is rumoured to take place sometime in late August.
