Reminiscent of some of 2013’s breakthrough alternative-but-not-really talents, Sydney duo The Twoks do artisanal power-pop on First Light, and they do it well. Shades of Stevie Nicks are present in the killer chorus, sprinkling the right amount of cheese with hand-clap drums – the deft violin touches putting in the groundwork with surreptitious aplomb.
