Public Enemy announced today that their forthcoming concerts in Australia have been postponed and will be rescheduled,
This includes performances in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Chuck D, frontman for the legendary hip hop group, needs to undergo immediate eye surgery.
Chuck D said, “I’m sorry to make you wait a little longer but I need to get this eye surgery done, so I can really rock the house for you and Bring The Noise. Stay tuned for the new dates.” All existing ticketholders will be notified of rescheduled dates once confirmed and need not take action; original purchases will be valid for the rescheduled date without the need for exchange.

Public Enemy was formed in 1985 in Long Island, New York, by friends Chuck D and Flavor Flav. Their 1987 debut album Yo! Bum Rush The Show laid the foundation for their revolutionary sound, blending assertive beats with sharp social commentary.
Commencing as an opening act for the Beastie Boys, it was their sophomore effort in 1988, It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back that catapulted them to international fame, helping them collect a long list of accolades that included an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013. Their 1990 project Fear of a Black Planet gave us the raucous Black anthem that defined a nation, Fight the Power.
Beyond their musical contributions, Public Enemy’s impact extends to their activism and cultural influence. They were, and remain, at the forefront of the fight against racial injustice and inequality, using their platform to raise awareness and spark meaningful dialogue. From ground-breaking music videos to candid interviews, the group remains unapologetically vocal about issues affecting the community.
