Just as teamLab’s vibrant exhibition wraps up as part of this year’s Melbourne International Arts Festival program, a new challenger has entered the digital art gallery game.

The Lume is a brand new digital art gallery set to open in South Melbourne next year. The permanent gallery will span 2,000 square metres and will be open seven days a week, 365 days a year. The exhibition space will come complete with a whopping 150 projectors, tantalising aromas and musical soundscapes.

Not much else has been revealed about the gallery, including where exactly it will be located, but the latest images released of the site seem to suggest iconic Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh will be one of the first artists showcased.

The Lume is coming to South Melbourne in autumn 2020. For more info, head to The Lume’s website.
