Randy Feltface announces 20-show Gimmick tour of Australia for 2027

Words by staff writer

Randy Feltface is bringing his stand-up show Gimmick to theatres across Australia and New Zealand from February 2027.

Randy Feltface is heading back to Australia and New Zealand with 20 shows and a brand new hour.

The purple comedian has spent years batting away suggestions that he’s nothing more than a novelty act, but with Gimmick, Randy Feltface has finally decided to stop resisting the label. Instead, he’s fully embracing the absurdity of being a felt puppet doing stand-up comedy for a living.

Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around Melbourne here.

The show promises a tightly wound hour of self-aware material that mixes existential pondering with sharp cultural observations and a nonstop stream of gags. It’s being billed as a deliberately silly, punchline-heavy affair that steers well clear of emotional territory.

The Gimmick tour spans 20 dates across both countries, opening in Wellington on 1 February before stops in Christchurch and Auckland. Randy Feltface then crosses the ditch for a proper national run that hits every Australian state and territory. Melbourne’s Palais Theatre is on the schedule for 10 February, with the wider itinerary taking in major cities and regional centres from Canberra and Sydney through to Thirroul, Geelong, Toowoomba and Caloundra. The tour wraps up in Darwin on 5 March.

One of Australia’s most followed comedians

Randy Feltface has built a sizeable international following over more than a decade on the road, selling out theatres around the world. He’s written and performed 12 solo stand-up shows and released eight comedy specials, with his independently published material drawing millions of views online. Those specials have spread widely through unofficial channels, helping cultivate one of comedy’s more dedicated global fanbases along the way.

Beyond touring, Randy Feltface has appeared on Netflix and BBC Radio 4, picked up a nomination for best comedy at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and made his US television debut on NBC’s Bring The Funny. The Gimmick tour is produced and promoted by TEG Dainty.

Tickets go on sale 3 September at 10am local time.
