The Kite Machine announce Australian tour

The Kite Machine tour

Off the back of their latest single 'Your Touch' and in support of the upcoming single ‘Dagger in the Dark’, Geelong's electric groove-infused four-piece The Kite Machine make a return to the national stage for the first time in 2022.

The ‘Touch / Dagger’ tour will kick off at Yah Yah’s in Melbourne on September 2, and see the prod-rock outfit take to stages at Frankie’s Pizza in Sydney, Ryan’s Hotel in Wollongong, Volta in Ballarat and Geelong Hotel’s Bandroom in Geelong before finishing up at the Halls Gap Hotel in Halls Gap on October 15 2022.

The tour also includes a support slot for Mammal in Melbourne on September 16.

This new tour will be the first time many fans will experience material from the four-piece’s recent and remarkably eclectic studio output of the last three years, including 2021 releases in the mind-bending acoustics and intense vocals of ‘5656’ and eccentric ballad ‘Instant Pretty’, both of which came bolstered with the rock organ stylings of newest band member Cam Jerabek. These releases were also the band’s first project since the release of their self-titled album in 2019.

“I think people are going to love this tour, We have really worked hard on making it a unique experience for the fans as well as a thrilling rock show,” comments Liam Brennan, bassist for the group.

Full of decadent synths, supercharged guitars and sweaty dance beats, their newest release ‘Your Touch’ borrows from the playbook of synth legends Daft Punk and the group’s continued incorporation of synthesised tones to their funk-rock roots makes for a mighty wall of sound on the big stage that is in a word.. irrepressible.

The band was first formed here just a few years back, and now with a songbook filled to the brim with groove-laden bangers, stadium sized singalongs and huge riffs, fans and newcomers alike should find a lot to love about one of Australia’s most promising up-and-coming live acts.
