The James Lockwood Trio

The James Lockwood Trio performs better- and lesser-known works from the Bebop Era, spanning 1940 to 1955. The Trio specialises in interpreting the musics of Charlie Parker, Fats Navarro, Bud Powell, and Barry Harris, in addition to showcasing less-remembered composers such as Lucky Thompson, Howard McGhee, and Elmo Hope.

Employing a unique ensemble format of upright bass, guitar, and baritone saxophone, The James Lockwood Trio emphasises deft melodicism, interplay, and rhythmic sophistication, reminiscent of the stellar groups by Red Norvo and Lucky Thompson.
