It’s been rad. I know where all the best scumbag-chic watering holes are and I can probably take you in a fight. But it’s not an exclusive relationship we’re in, and with the southside nightlife set to become even more exciting, I’m pretty sure I could be tempted to make the journey over, with the collaborative efforts between the Caravan Club in Oakleigh and its Carnival of Suburbia festival resulting in what’s set to be a busy and buzzing new hotspot, The Flying Saucer.
Located on the thriving Glen Huntly Road in the laid-back, trendy surrounds of Elsternwick, close to the station and the carnival home Elsternwick Park, the venue features all manner of delights, including an art deco interior, a bluestone fireplace and a kitchen and the promise of everything from contemporary music and cabaret, spoken word, burlesque, comedy, theatre and more.
