A super cute single from The Drums, from their forthcoming sophomore album Portamento. “I want to buy you something,” Jonny Pierce sings, “but I don’t have any money.” Sounds ridiculous I guess, but his airy repetition of this very basic lament is actually kind of funny, crooned lazily over the racing, jangling surf guitar that is The Drums’ signature sound. Not a radical departure from their debut album, but every bit as good.
