The dancefloor will be full all December at The Toff with UKG, Afrobeats, pirate punk and garage rock

The Toff pulls no punches with its enormous December lineup.

There are only a few sure-things when it comes to CBD party locations, and The Toff is certainly one of them. The Swanston St venue’s December programming is reliably excellent, with all-night parties featuring the cream of the local DJ scene, plus a soundsystem birthday bash and a couple of Naarm punk bands thrown in for good measure.

The bar will slinging custom cocktails and all the classics. So, get down to The Toff to end the year on a high.

Toff Club: DJ Loner and Cass Lee

From 10pm till late, DJ Loner and Cass Lee will delivering high-energy club tunes. DJ Loner is known for their mix of jackin’ house, acid, X-rated lyrics and pure late-night madness. Cass Lee has played at Beyond the Valley and Wildlands and supported Mechatok.

Blue Hawaii is the Montreal via Berlin duo of Raphaelle “Ra” Standell-Preston and Alexander “Agor” Cowan. The duo started out in 2010 making dreamy electro-pop. On their latest album, Diamond Shovel, Blue Hawaii embrace the faster tempos and sparkling vocals of 90s trance. They’ll be supported at the Toff by Lucy Lamb, Mayari and Tina Disco.

Tribe

Tribe returns to The Toff for a night of global club sounds. DJs Eden, Santerres, Olita, JuJu and Denzel Legrand will be spinning Afrobeats, amapiano, baile funk, and Jersey club. It’s Tribe’s final event for 2025, kicking off at 11pm and running through till 5am.

Goody’s HiFi are celebrating nine years of heavy and hectic soundsystem music with an all night party at the Toff. The Goody’s Massive will be spinning tracks, joined by guest selectors CC Sound and Mama Char. Martha and Max Shotta will be on the mic. As ever, the Goody’s crew emphasise that their events are queer, anti-racist and anti-colonial.

Local punk band Maggie Pills – led by Argentinian front woman Delfi Sorondo – just dropped their new album, Hearts Enduring Lingering Loss. They’re ending the year in style with a headliner at the Toff, backed up by Naarm rock’n’rollers Comedy. Best of all, it’s free entry.

Jam Hot

Jam Hot residents DJ Swella and MBq take charge of one last party for 2025. Swella recently released a four-tracker of warm, chord-driven house on Rotterdam’s Clone Royal Oak label. They’ll be transmitting good vibrations in the Toff stage side well into the wee hours.

The Toff’s long-running UKG series, Is That Garage?, is hitting the river on December 20 for an epic boat party. They’ll be heading back to where it all began afterwards, with an afterparty featuring the best of Melbourne’s UKG and speed garage community, including Zacattacq, Garçon, Charbinks and lufer B2B Syrup.

Spinners include Niix, Inuka, George Giam, Tonz, Unmarked Billz, Clickbait b2b BOWERS, and BUGG. All signs point to ending 2025 with a big grin on your face.
