Off the back of their just-released third album, We Will Always Love You.

Fresh off releasing their third album, We Will Always Love You, The Avalanches have revealed a 2021 Melbourne show at Sidney Myer Music Bowl. Going down on Friday April 23, it’s set to be the first show The Avalanches play off the back of their new record – one that’s quickly earning plaudits for its imagination and sonic adventure.

The show will see the band take their audience on a ethereal journey as they explore the relationship between light, sound and spirit. We Will Always Love You was made to do away the stress and concerns of 2020, while catapulting minds into transcendental domains. It’s a reverie in the most heartfelt and uplifting way, and is poised to be Australia’s summer soundtrack as we embark on the festive season ahead.

Since The Avalanches made their groundbreaking debut with Since I Left You in 2000, listeners waited 16 years for their follow-up record, Wildflower. It only took four years for We Will Always Love You to arrive; it was a concerted effort by the band to capitalise on the momentum from album two as they journeyed further into the ether, welcoming more collaborators than ever before.

The show will be presented with COVID-19 in mind – punters will have the option to purchase tickets in groups of two, four or six for an especially intimate experience.

The Avalanches come to Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Friday April 23. Presale is available from 12pm on Friday December 18, with general sale starting from 12pm on Monday December 21. Get your tix here.
