The trailer for Sia’s new film ‘MUSIC’ has arrived

The first look at Sia’s directorial debut has landed.

Internationally-acclaimed singer-songwriter Sia will unveil her directorial debut on January 14 with the release of MUSIC.

A musical drama, the film will also see Sia’s longtime muse and collaborator, Maddie Ziegler, making her silver screen debut as the titular character, Music.

Also starring Kate Hudson and Leslie Odom Jr., MUSIC is centred around finding your feet and the relationships that hold us together.

Following the free-spirited Zu (Hudson), who is newly sober and estranged from her family, as she unexpectedly finds herself as the sole guardian of her half-sister, Music (Ziegler), the film looks to be a heartfelt, uplifting exploration of human connection.

Based on a short story penned by Sia in 2007, the film was co-written alongside Dallas Clayton and will debut ten original tracks to be released as a joint album alongside the film.

The first taste of the soundtrack arrived earlier this year with the release of ‘Together’ and an accompanying film clip featuring a technicoloured dance number.

The trailer provides a glimpse of the film’s big, bold musical numbers which work to conceptualise the characters’ thoughts and emotions as unique and cinematic experiences.
