Alabama-duo, The Secret Sisters, will feature with Elvis Costello as well as in their own solo shows on their Australian tour.
American sister act (don’t worry, no singing nuns here), The Secret Sisters will be appearing in Australia this April, performing in solo shows as well as supporting music-legend Elvis Costello.
The Alabama-born sisters, Laura and Lydia Rogers, will kick off their Australian tour at Sydney’s State Theatre on April 19 with Elvis Costello but will now perform a solo show the following day before heading to Costello’s show at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre. From there The Secret Sisters will make two appearances at Byron Bay’s annual blues festival, Bluesfest.
This tour is quite a new step for the sisters who were only discovered a year ago by well-known producer T-Bone Burnett who has also worked with Elton John, John Mellencamp, Tony Bennett, K.D Lang as and has a long term association with Elvis Costello. Along with Burnett the sisters produced their debut, self-titled album last year offering up a blend of 1950s inspired tracks.
Since then the duo have performed with Elton John, hitting the No. 1 spot on UK’s iTunes chart, and earnt rave reviews from Rolling Stone magazine.
