Evil J & Saint Cecilia (Eliza-Jane Barnes and Cecilia Herbert) are an absolutely freaking amazing new baroque folk duo from Sydney – a band with daunting levels of talent and obvious international potential. I’m not just saying this because they sent me a teaspoon. You can’t buy my love. Ok, you can, but not with a spoon. This radiant single falls loosely into the Best Coast/Sonny school of sixties garage pop revival, but it is more subtle, more complex and less obviously driven by vintage aesthetics.
