Get your hands on some quality local goods made by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artisans.

This Saturday, head on down to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre to browse the fine selection of handmade goods made by some of Naarm’s most talented Indigenous artisans.

The Koorie Market sees small business owners and entrepreneurs come together to network, sell their wares and listen to the sweet tunes of Yorta Yorta artist Madi Colville-Walker.

There will be a collection of stallholders at the event selling goods including handmade clothing, body products, homewares, art and snacks. The market will also be raising funds to support Vision 2020’s work in the Indigenous Eye Health space through a raffle – the grand prize will be a basket featuring an item from each stall holder.

Rising singer-songwriter star Madi Colville-Walker will provide the entertainment for the evening, with a lovely acoustic set echoing out through the market. Her heartfelt country songs and impressive vocal chops have gained her supporting positions for musicians including Dan Sultan and the legendary Archie Roach.

The market will be taking place and time as Meet and Greet Down Under, a laid-back networking event that is part of the World Congress of Optometry convention. Visitors of the conference can stop by the market to pick up some handmade goods before strolling over to Meet and Greet to check out the DJs, LED hoop performers and thrilling acrobatics.
