Acclaimed country singer-songwriter Shane Nicholson has launched The Americana Music Prize of Australia, a collaborative initiative between Nicholson/The Sound Hole, Forbes Street Studios and Lost Highway Australia.
“We want to support, encourage, mentor and resource aspiring unsigned artists in the Americana/alt-country scene,” said Nicholson. “This is a great way to kick start a career.”
Judged by a panel of esteemed industry experts hand-picked by Nicholson, the annual prize will grant one lucky entrant a $10,000 prize pack, including the opportunity to work with and receive mentorships from an array of industry professionals.
The winning artist will record and produce an EP at Forbes Street Studios, as well as receive a professional photoshoot, album artwork, management and touring consultations and much more.
