Section 8 Beach Party is transforming the laneway into a sandy escape from 23 February to 1 March.
Sand between your toes, beats in the air, and not a plane ticket in sight…Section 8 Beach Party is back for another round of tropical escapism right in the heart of the city.
Running for seven days straight, this free event is turning the beloved laneway venue into an immersive beach experience complete with sunshiney vibes and a seriously stacked lineup of local talent.
Forget planning that coastal getaway. Section 8 Beach Party has everything sorted: live performances from some of Melbourne’s most exciting names, DJ sets that’ll keep the energy flowing, beach snacks to fuel the good times, ethereal visuals to set the scene, and even a laneway basketball shootout for those competitive spirits. It’s a staycation situation where the only thing required is showing up ready to vibe.

Lineup spans the spectrum with acts including Milk Bar bringing their live energy, plus sets from Glow, Amber Jaye, Khaisia, Amin Payne, Taijae, Sorensen, Hope, Happyfeet, Kurious Kat, BLURR3D, Bellxsxs, Olita, SunnyFun DJs and Zjoso. More names are still to be announced, so expect the roster to keep growing.
Coopers and Archie Rose Distillery are handling drink special duties, meaning refreshments are sorted while soaking up the sunshine. Seven days gives plenty of opportunity to drop in whenever suits, whether that’s after work for a quick tropical hit or settling in for a full afternoon of beach party energy.
No need to stress about entry fees or planning logistics. Section 8 Beach Party keeps it simple: rock up, dig your toes in the sand, enjoy the tunes and embrace the fact that sometimes the best escapes don’t require leaving the city at all. Beach party season officially starts 23 February.
