“Calling Me is the third release off my upcoming EP by the same title (The Calling Me EP). It’s a fun, upbeat pop song about falling for someone, and letting your mind run away with the fantasy of what could be. Working with Stephen Mowat again, producing this track was such a creative process. We went chasing for that real dreamscape kind of feel and I’m beyond happy with the result!” Thompson says.
The new EP showcases Thompson’s evolution as an artist, blending his Americana and folk foundations with a fresh pop sensibility. Drawing inspiration from songwriting heavyweights like Kacey Musgraves, Gillian Welch, Justin Townes Earle, and Jason Isbell, Thompson explores universal themes of love, loss, and hope through his characteristically raw and introspective lens.
Thompson will perform the EP in full with his live band at the Wesley Anne launch, joined by special guest Yours, Georgina. Known for weaving deeply personal narratives with universal experiences, Georgina’s support slot promises to complement Thompson’s headline set with tales of yearning, heartache, and those unavoidable growing pains.
