Rev up your synthesiser because Belinda Carlisle is on the way

It’s been almost three decades since Carlisle released her smash hit album, Runaway Horses, and she’s heading Down Under to celebrate. So, grab yur siblings and pool your money because 2019 Mother’s Day was just sorted; grab yourself a ticket as well, because a certifiable banger is a certifiable banger, and your mum knows more about good music than you give her credit for.

Released in 1989, Runaway Horses became an instant hit, reaching #6 on the Aussie album charts. No wonder, seeing as it featured tunes such as ‘Leave a Light On’, ‘Vision of You’, and ‘La Luna’. Carlisle’s second album, Heaven is a Place on Earth was just as huge, with the title single making waves and cementing its spot in the halls of radio-play fame, still on rotation now. Carlisle’s works also include the one song in the world that will formulaically get you up and dancing despite time and place, ‘Summer Rain’. Those synths, those African beats, that hook? Don’t lie to yourself, it gets you whether you’re a mum or not.

Carlisle will touch down in Perth, then work her way through all major cities until she reaches Melbourne for one show, thereafter working her way through NSW. Though her most recent album, Wilder Shores, was released in 2017, she’ll no doubt be giving prime airtime to the classics in what is sure to be an exciting setlist.
