Energy marks the beginning of Indiana’s exciting journey exploring honesty in love and self-discovery on the queer dance floor. Drawing inspiration from living amongst the Melbourne pop scene and collaborating with local artists and producers in Australia and LA, Indiana crafts a relatable escape through minimalistic dance-pop that delves into late-night thoughts on love and self-discovery.
The track delves into the captivating allure of potential lovers with hidden agendas and the internal struggle of resisting someone who might not be the right fit, even when their “energy” is irresistibly enticing.
“I’m really into the hyper dance-pop and minimalistic aesthetic right now,” shares Indiana Williams. “I crave music that has this sexy edge to it with a bit of longing to the sound. When I started writing Energy with my producer NEW-HAVEN, we developed a minimalistic soundscape, and this collection explores that.”
Not only has Indiana captured hearts with his music, but he has also gained attention for his distinctive artistic approach. Recording with just voice memos and chord samples on an iPad, Indiana’s bold and mysterious musical style is infectious. Blending elements of R&B, dream-pop, and ethereal highs, his debut EP Digital Heartbreak amassed over 100,000 streams, attracting fans from all corners of the globe.
