The Bladee and Charli XCX collaborator will be coming to Melbourne for the launch of a brand new party series.

The cult favourite producer, DJ and songwriter will be making his Australian debut with an exclusive Melbourne show.

He’ll be performing at the launch of Real Life: a new music and community experience created by local party people Rude Baby Records and Canberra’s experimental music and fashion brand Boundary Studio.

Best known for his distinct fusion of ethereal pop and techno and his work with Swedish collective Drain Gang, Mechatok has gained a dedicated online following. He’ll be performing at Real Life before heading up to Canberra to headline Infinity Worm festival alongside Thick Owens, Black Lung, Sapphire Slows and more.

The expertly-crafted Real Life lineup also brings together some of the most exciting names in Australian underground electronic music. Mechatok will be joined by Brisbane-native Y2K techno pop producer jamejamesjames and Sydney-based DJ and producer Fatshaudi as well as Laces, Luca Rain, Kenta204:5Y5STEM and Von Adamas.

“Rude Baby shows are super fun! They’re usually very creative and friendly. It’s a safe environment to connect with new people, talk to artists, make friends, dress up, take lots of photos, dance like crazy, mosh your heart out, etcetera. Our events aim to be inclusive and inviting,” Rude Baby co-founder and director Gabby Bortolot told Beat earlier this year.

Real Life is running a pre-sale competition until July 25 where fans can sign up for early access to tickets and the chance to win a signed Mechatok Vinyl.
