The beloved autumn night market is back in 2024 for a short season only.
Get ready to sip sweet bubble tea, munch on delicious street food snacks and soak in the lively vibes of the Queen Victoria Market’s Hawker 88 Night Market, set to run on Wednesday nights from April 10 until May 8.
The treasured annual event brings Asian flavours and culture to the heart of Melbourne. Decorated with neon signs, hanging lanterns and Lucky Cat decorations, the market becomes the perfect place to settle in for a night of revelry. Each session has a different theme, so there’s always something new and exciting to check out.

This year, they’re kicking it off strong with an All-Asia theme on opening night, where there will be vibrant lion dances and a big dumpling competition. Come hungry, and you may even take home the top prize!
On April 17, they’re paying tribute to one of the world’s most controversial fruits: the durian. This delicious stinker will be the star of the show, as well as Malay dancing and martial arts demonstrations.
Next up, Oriental Night takes over on April 24, with K-Pop dancing and Taiko drumming by a Japanese cultural band. May 1 will be Island Night, featuring beer pong, skewer eating competitions, live Filipino music and Bollywood dancing.
The Full Moon Festival will be the grand finale, happening on May 8. DJ and live music will echo out through the market, bringing a close to the ever-popular event.
As always, entry to the Queen Victoria Market is free and food and drinks will be available for purchase.
